About College of Health Care Professions (CHCP)
The College of Health Care Professions began its journey in 1953 when a group of physicians founded MacGregor Medical Association in the world renowned Texas Medical Center. It operated as a physician practice with many locations in Houston and San Antonio.
In 1988, MacGregor physicians found they needed to provide quality medical training to employees, enabling their skills to be utilized by MacGregor’s expanding physician practices. The College of Health Care Professions was founded to provide the needed health care training.

The College of Health Care Professions is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) and is dedicated to providing you with quality training in the allied healthcare fields. As a CHCP student, you will attain knowledge and proficiency through demonstration, actual operation of equipment, and practice of learned techniques. Our aim is to provide students with the knowledge and technical proficiency that will make them employable for entry-level positions in the allied healthcare field while supporting their continued career path goals. CHCP is proud to be accredited by the ABHES (www.abhes.org).
What are the admission requirements for College of Health Care Professions (CHCP)?
All our certificate programs require that you have a high school diploma or equivalent. Then you must pass the Scholastic Level exam with a minimum score based on program requirements, which you will take during the Admissions process. Our Vocational Nursing certificate program includes some additional requirements. For our associate and bachelor’s degree programs, you must have obtained a certificate or diploma in an Allied Health program from an institution of higher education accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, plus some additional requirements unique per program.
